Street, park and avenue tree. Known for its characteristic bright bark, that peels off in large sections. Large palmate lobed leaves, 10-25 cm, bright green, moderate lobed, 3-5 lobes per leaf. Middle lobe about as wide as it is long. The London Plane is a magesitc tree and a great addition to landscapes which provide enough space for it to thrive in. The species has an amazing ability to filter large quanities of micro carbons within the atmosphere making it a useful selection in polluted areas.
